The man I love went away today

By Jesus side he went to stay

We raised the children him and I

Before he left for his home in the sky

I miss him ever so much

I miss his laughter and his touch,

I miss his friendship, his gentle ways

The pleasures he brought to my days.

Love like ours happens once in a life

I was lucky to have been his wife,

And as he left me with a great sigh,

He begged for me "please don't cry,

I'm going home" he said

"Where at last I can lay my head,

The aches and pains will soon depart,

and I'm holding you close in my heart."

Then he left, that man of mine

He went to God's kingdom divine

And there he now for me awaits

With St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.

For David

from Madelon (A.K.A Ramblnmom)

February 4, 1935 -August 14, 1994

Dave was from Glen Falls

A small sleepy town in

Upstate, New York

Just this side of the Vermont border

Our dream was to retire and move to Vermont,

but Davids' health made this the impossible dream,
